Measuring For Ceramic/Porcelain Tile Floors
Measuring for a tile floor is simple. Take the length and the width of the room and multiply those two numbers to get the square footage its that simple. To get an even closer estimate of how much you need you can draw out the room and break it up into squares. Multiply the length and width of each section then add the numbers together. This will eliminate wasted square footage from things such as islands or counters. The manufacturer will list the exact square footage on each carton so just divide that number by the square footage you need and round up to the next highest whole number. This is how much you will need.

There will be a charges involved with installing a tile floor. The first is the subfloor. You should use cement board or a cement mud for the tile to adhere to. Also factor in the grout needed (square foot coverage is on the manufacturers packaging) and adhesive needed (square foot coverage is on the manufacturers packaging).
