Measuring For Laminate Floors

Measuring for a laminate floor is simple.  Take the length and the width of the room and multiply those two numbers to get the square footage its that simple. To get an even closer estimate of how much you need you can draw out the room and break it up into squares.  Multiply the length and width of each section then add the numbers together.  This will eliminate wasted square footage from things such as islands or counters.

A few things to keep in mind are:

When one of our professionals comes to measure your home, at no charge to you, they will measure your rooms, take the exact square footage, and add 5% to 10% depending on the manufacturer.  This is an industry standard because not all pieces can be used fully.  The joints must be staggered at least 8 inches between each row, therefore some must be cut to a shorter size to accommodate.

Note:  Manufactures cartons vary and the product must be ordered by the carton
